Leisure guests come at weekends and in season. Business travellers come Monday to Thursday, all year. Regular corporate bookings from factories, banks, hospitals, IT firms and government projects can give a small hotel a steady weekday base.
Find the right companies
- Factories and industrial areas within 10–15 km
- Hospitals (visiting doctors, patients' families)
- Banks and insurance branches (auditors, trainers)
- Engineering and infrastructure projects
- Colleges and universities (examiners, guest faculty)
- Taxi operators and travel agents who handle corporate clients. See taxi tie-ups with hotels
The contact is usually the HR, admin or travel desk person, not the owner.
Build a corporate rate sheet
One page that includes:
- Room types with a fixed corporate rate (valid 6–12 months)
- What's included: breakfast, Wi-Fi, laundry pieces, airport/station drop
- Early check-in and late check-out terms
- Billing: GST invoice in the company's name, monthly credit if approved
- Contact person with direct mobile and WhatsApp
What business travellers care about
- Reliable Wi-Fi and a work desk
- Quiet rooms, good hot water, early breakfast
- Fast check-in and correct invoices. See hotel GST
- Ironing, laundry and parking
Credit and payments
Offer credit only after the first few bookings are paid on time. Put credit limits and payment days in writing, and send statements monthly.
Keep the account
- Remember regular guests' preferences (room, floor, pillow, meal)
- Send a monthly booking report to the admin contact
- Visit once a quarter with sweets or a small gift at festivals
- Fix complaints the same day
FAQs
Should corporate rates be lower than OTA rates?
Usually, yes, because there's no commission and the volume is steady. Make sure the rate stays above your cost floor. See hotel room pricing.
