When you open a new shop, clinic, office or service, the first month is busy: interiors, staff, stock, permissions. Getting online often gets pushed to "later", and later can mean six months of customers not finding you. This plan fits the essentials into 30 days, about an hour a day.
Week 1: Name, domain and basics
Day 1–2: Lock your name everywhere. Check that your business name is available as a domain (.com or .in) and on Instagram and Facebook. Register the domain in your own name. See how to choose a domain name.
Day 3: Business email.
Set up [email protected] or [email protected]. It looks far more professional than a Gmail address on visiting cards. See business email setup.
Day 4–5: WhatsApp Business. Install WhatsApp Business on a dedicated number. Add a business description, hours, address, catalogue and a greeting message.
Day 6–7: Collect content. Logo, photos of your premises and team, a list of services with short descriptions, prices if you'll show them, and your exact address with a map pin.
Week 2: Google Business Profile and website
Day 8: Create your Google Business Profile. Use your exact business name, correct category, phone and hours. Verification can take time, so start early. See how to rank on Google Maps.
Day 9–14: Build the website. A launch website needs only five things: 1. A clear headline saying what you do and where 2. Services with short descriptions 3. Photos of the real place 4. Click-to-call and WhatsApp buttons 5. Address, map and hours
You can add a blog, a gallery and more pages later. For a new business, a fast, clean site that works on mobile matters more than a large one.
Week 3: Connect and get seen
Day 15: Search Console and Analytics. Add your site to Google Search Console and submit the sitemap. Set up Google Analytics 4. See Search Console for beginners.
Day 16–17: Social profiles. Create Instagram and Facebook pages with the same name, logo, phone and website link. Post three to five photos: the premises, the team, your work.
Day 18–19: Local listings. Add your business to a few relevant directories with identical name, address and phone. Consistency helps Google trust your details.
Day 20–21: Launch announcement. Share the opening on WhatsApp status, social media and with your personal network. Ask friends and family to follow and share, not to post fake reviews.
Week 4: First customers and reviews
Day 22–24: Opening offer. A simple, time-limited reason to visit: a free consultation, launch discount or a small gift. Mention it on the website, the Google profile and social media.
Day 25–27: Ask real customers for reviews. After every happy first customer, send your Google review link on WhatsApp. Early, genuine reviews have a big effect on Maps rankings. See how to get more Google reviews.
Day 28: Small ads test (optional). If you have budget, run a small local Google or Meta ad for one or two weeks. Keep the area tight and the budget modest.
Day 29–30: Review. Check: How many calls and WhatsApp messages came in? From where? What did customers ask that your website didn't answer? Add those answers to the site.
What to skip in month one
- Complex features like apps, loyalty programs and big ad campaigns
- Being on every social platform. Pick one or two you can keep up
- Paying for "guaranteed" followers or reviews
