WhatsApp messages get read far more than emails, which is exactly why careless WhatsApp broadcast messages get businesses blocked or reported. Every block hurts your number's reputation. Write fewer, better messages.
First, consent
Broadcast lists on the WhatsApp Business app only deliver to people who have saved your number. That's a built-in consent check. Ask customers: "Can we send you occasional offers on WhatsApp?" Never buy number lists.
Structure
- Personal opening: name if possible
- One main point: the offer, update or reminder
- Key details: dates, price, validity
- One action: "Reply YES", "Call", a link
- Opt-out line: "Reply STOP to stop these messages"
Keep it under about 60–80 words. People read on the go.

Reminder
Hello Neha, your website's domain renews on 20 June. Renew before then to keep your site and email running. Reply OK and we'll send the payment link.
Festival greeting (no selling)
Happy Diwali to you and your family from all of us at Hotel Green View 🪔 Thank you for staying with us this year.
Frequency
For most local businesses, 2–4 messages a month is the upper limit. Festival greetings and genuinely useful updates earn the right to send offers.
Avoid
- ALL CAPS, many emojis, several links
- The same message every week
- Forwarding images with no text
Measure
Track replies and bookings from each broadcast. If replies fall and blocks rise, send less often.

FAQs
Can I send broadcasts to 5,000 people?
For large lists, the WhatsApp Business Platform (API) with approved templates is the proper route. The app's broadcast lists have size limits.
