An email newsletter is one of the few marketing channels you own completely. No algorithm decides who sees it. The hard part is writing something people want to open each month.
Subject lines
- Be specific: "3 Delhi airport taxi changes for winter" beats "Monthly Newsletter #14"
- Keep it under about 50 characters so it fits on mobile
- Avoid ALL CAPS, lots of "!!!" and words like "FREE" repeated. They look like spam
- Use the preview text line to add context
One main message
Each issue should have one key story or offer. Add 2–3 short extras below it. Readers who scroll that far are interested.
Monthly template
- Greeting (1–2 lines, personal)
- Main story: a useful tip, case study or news
- Quick tips or updates: 2–3 bullets
- Offer or reminder (if any)
- One clear button
- Sign-off from a real person
- Unsubscribe link (required by email providers)
Content ideas
- Seasonal tips (monsoon, wedding season, festival travel)
- A customer success story. See storytelling in marketing
- New blog posts
- Behind the scenes: new team member, new vehicle, new office
- Answers to common customer questions
Length and frequency
Short is fine: 150–400 words. Monthly is a realistic start; consistency matters more than frequency.
